# Hone alternative: Rise vs Hone, which PC optimizer should you choose?

> If you want to start without paying, Hone has a free plan with 10 optimizations. If you want to see each change before it is applied, measure before and after on your own PC and have 7 days to back out with a full refund, Rise is the pick. Both say they can undo their changes.

Both tune Windows for gaming and say they can undo what they change. The difference is in how you pay, how you measure the result and what happens if you do not like it.

## Side by side

**Rise and Hone, fact by fact (checked on November 7, 2026)**

| What to compare | Rise | Hone |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Free plan | No. None. Two paid plans: Rise Basic and Rise Premium | Yes. Yes: 10 optimizations (up to 15 with referrals) and ads [2] |
| Price | Shown in Plans before you pay, in US dollars or euros outside Brazil | Premium monthly or yearly; the price depends on your region [2] |

## Rise makes more sense if

- You want to see what each change does before it is applied.
- You want the result measured on your PC, with the same test before and after.
- You want a simple refund rule: 7 days from the first purchase, full amount, no reason needed.
- You play FiveM, CS2, VALORANT or Fortnite and want the game’s video preset with a backup.

## Hone makes more sense if

- You want to try an optimizer without paying anything (the free plan has 10 optimizations).
- Your game is on Hone’s guide list and not in Rise’s presets.
- You already use the Epic Games Store, where Hone is also distributed.

## What changes in practice

Hone bets on the free plan: you install it, apply up to 10 optimizations and decide later whether to subscribe to Premium. Rise has no free plan. In exchange, it shows what each change does before applying it and includes the Benchmark so you can compare before and after on your own PC.

Both say their changes can be undone. In Rise, each optimization keeps the previous value and reverts in one click, and Revert all undoes them all at once, on any plan. If an optimization does not confirm after it is applied, Rise undoes it on its own.

## Why measuring on your PC matters

FPS gains depend on the processor, the graphics card, the game and how Windows was set up before. A test run on another PC, however honest, does not tell you what will happen on yours. That is why Rise does not promise a number: the Rise Benchmark runs the same scene before and after and shows your own computer’s average FPS, 1% low and stutters.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is Rise an alternative to Hone?

Yes. Both tune Windows and games for better play. Rise shows each change before applying it, measures before and after with its own Benchmark and gives you 7 days to back out with a full refund. Hone has a free plan with 10 optimizations.

### Is Hone free?

It has a free plan with 10 optimizations (up to 15 with referrals) and ads, according to Hone’s official page on November 7, 2026. Premium is paid, monthly or yearly, with a price that depends on your region.

### Is Hone.gg safe?

Hone says on its official site that it saves the original values of supported changes so you can restore them, and it recommends creating a Windows restore point. As with any optimizer, download it only from the official site and check what each change does before applying it.

### How do refunds work on each one?

Rise: 7 calendar days from your first purchase, full amount, no reason needed. On Hone, refunds follow the policy of the processor that handled the purchase (Xsolla or Tebex), with the conditions listed on Hone’s refund policy page (checked on November 7, 2026).

### Can I use both together?

We do not recommend it. Two optimizers changing the same Windows settings make it hard to know who changed what, and they get in the way of undoing changes. Pick one and measure before and after.
