Rise vs ExitLag: is your lag the network or the PC?
"Lag" can be the internet or the PC. ExitLag takes care of the connection’s path to the game server. Rise takes care of the computer: Windows, graphics card, the PC’s network settings and peripherals.
This comparison was written by the Rise team, which has a stake in it. Data about the other products comes from their official pages, with the link and the date we checked it. Prices and features change: check the source before you decide.
Short answer
If the problem is high ping, packet loss or a bad route to the server, ExitLag is the right tool: that is its main product. If the problem is low FPS, stutters or input lag on your computer, Rise is the better fit, because it tunes the whole PC and measures before and after. The two complement each other.

Rise makes more sense if
- Your FPS drops, the game stutters or the mouse feels delayed, even with good ping.
- You want to see what holds your PC back and fix it after reviewing each change.
- You want to measure before and after on your own computer.
- You want your game’s video preset with a backup of the previous settings.
ExitLag makes more sense if
- Your ping is high or unstable, with packet loss or rubber banding.
- The game server is far away and your ISP’s route is poor.
- You also play on your phone (Android or iOS).
How to tell whether the lag is the internet or the PC
- High or jumping ping, characters "teleporting" and packet loss: a network sign. That is ExitLag’s case.
- Low FPS, FPS drops in busy areas, stutters and delayed mouse input with normal ping: a PC sign. That is Rise’s case.
- Both at once: start with whichever shows up most and measure after each change.
You can use both
ExitLag takes care of the connection’s path to the server; Rise takes care of the computer. If you use both, avoid having two programs change the same thing (process priority and memory cleanup), so you can measure the effect of each one and go back whenever you want.
Frequently asked questions
Does ExitLag increase FPS?
ExitLag’s focus is the connection. The official site lists PC Boost, which frees up RAM, as a performance feature. For low FPS and stutters caused by the PC, a PC optimizer like Rise goes after more causes: Windows, power plan, graphics card, background programs and game settings.
Does Rise lower ping?
Rise tunes your PC’s network and measures ping per route, but it does not change your internet’s path to the server. Your ISP’s quality and route still depend on your connection. That is what ExitLag is for.
Which one has a free trial?
ExitLag offers a 3-day free trial without a card, according to its official site on November 7, 2026. Rise has no free trial; on your first purchase, you have 7 days to back out with a full refund.
How do I pay for each one?
Rise takes cards, with prices in US dollars or euros outside Brazil, shown in Plans before you pay. ExitLag shows the price in each country’s currency on its pricing page, with monthly, quarterly and yearly plans that renew automatically (checked on November 7, 2026).
